Greetings,
I am looking to source an AC generator for a direct injection retrofit kit going into production in early 2006. The retrofit kit is installed on existing two-stroke motorcycles to reduce pollution and increase fuel economy. The initial launch of the retrofit kit is in the Philippines and is designed for the 125 cc Kawasaki HDIII motorcycle. Unfortunately the stock charging system is a 6 volt 70 watt system. This does not meet the requirements of the retrofit kit so I need to source a new stator, and possibly a new magneto/flywheel. The stator I need has to be capable of producing 12 volts and 140 watts. It needs to be able to produce the 12 volts at an idle speed of 1000 RPM. The current 6 volt system uses a bar stator that I can provide a picture of if needed. The CDI coil also shown in the picture is no longer needed as ignition is handled through the engine control unit, so the location of the CDI coil is available for another bar stator if needed. I am not sure if my voltage needs can be met with a bar type stator, so if a star stator is necessary, I抦 open to that. I would require that the stator have an AC line to run an AC headlight, but I believe that this is typical on these systems.
The stock magneto/flywheel on the motorcycle is a 4 magnet unit. If possible I would like to use the existing magneto and find a stator that works within it. I can provide a drawing of the magneto to give you the critical dimensions of it. If it is not possible to use the existing magneto and an entire new magneto is needed, I抎 like the magneto to have a 24 minus 1 tooth count on it for use with the encoder system for the retrofit kit.
