Dear Sir,
We are HSIL ltd, faucet manufacturer with Brand Name “Hindware”
We have requirement of brass ingot (100 MT/Month)as per specification given below.
SCOPE:- Brass Ingot Chemical composition specification for the die casting brass with Basic reference as per IS1264:1997.
Sr. No. Elements Element range Specification for Brass Target
1 Cu 59 -61.5 % 59.5
2 Pb 1-1.6 % 1.3
3 Al 0.4-0.8 % 0.5- 0.7
4 Sn ≤ 0.15 Max.
5 Fe 0.03 - 0.12 % 0.05
6 Ni ≤0.1 Max
7 Manganese Mn, Phosphorous P, Sulfur S ≤ 0.1 Max
8 Si 0.03% Max.
9 Zirconium Zr 0.005 Max.
10 Magnesium Mg 0.04 max
11 Boron B 0-12 PPM Less than 8 PPM.
10 Total Other Trace Elements, As, Bi, Cd, Se etc. ≤ 0.05 Max.
11 Zn Remainder 37.5-38.5
Note:-
(1) Each consignment should be supported by your lab test certificate comprising of heat wise actual chemical& buff test results against our specification..
Acceptance criteria:-
(a) Pre-Shipment approval :
1. One Ingot sample from every heat polished & buffed should send along with chemical composition for pre-approval. The sample will be polished & inspected as per HSIL standard to verify hard particle & Surface Defects like as ( Jalla, Sori, or other Impurities )
2. These samples will kept for future reference for till the lot consumed.
3. The QA /Process engineer will communicate to Vendor for the approval. Then will be batch shipped to plant.
(b) Approval Procedure:
1. Every Ingot batch should marked for heat number to facilitate traceability.
2. Upon receipt of Ingot lot one ingot from each heat will be sliced & checked for the surface defects , one pass only as per HSIL standards & if Ok chemical composition will be checked.
3. Each heat wise melt undergoes testing (tatur cone, slush cup, chemical analysis, polish of tatur cone) before approval is made by the melt technician or process engineer to use the molten metal in the casting operation.
4. During production if problem arises which can be traced back Ingot heats/lots, then HSIL reserves the right to return Ingot batch ,bad castings and pigged out metal removed from holding furnaces back to the vendor for credit.
(c ) Polishing Buffing procedure
1. Ingot samples/Tatur cone is polished using Si-C belt rough polishing steps 60,220 & 320 grits. Then samples is buffed with hard buff & soft buff using Plato/Rose bar compound.
2. To perform above operation trained operators are recommended.
Kindly send your Quotation for the brass ingot.
